The Department of Excise and Taxation, Govt. of Punjab on March 31, 2025, issued the Punjab Restaurant (Consumption of Liquor) First Amendment Rules, 2025, to further amend the Punjab Restaurant (Consumption of Liquor) Rules, 1955.
It outlines that rule 5 shall be substituted. It states that a license in Form L-52 may be granted by the Collector for one year (April 1 - March 31) upon payment of a fixed fee: PML - ₹50,000 (Urban), ₹8,000 (Rural); IMFL - ₹3,00,000 (Corporation Area >1000 sq ft), ₹80,000 (≤1000 sq ft), ₹45,000 (Other Urban), ₹12,000 (Rural), with L-2 and L-14A vends paying as prescribed.
